Surrounded by natural beauty, I mindfully and joyfully experience the magic of creation, working with colleagues and clients in the arts, environment and culture.

I work to inspire empathy, joy and discovery through sharing my creativity as

Creative Director

A children’s book designed
to create empathy for our ocean’s smallest creatures

In my role as Producer and Designer, I worked in collaboration with the Seattle Aquarium and a dream team—nature writer Brenda Peterson and Caldecott Medalist Ed Young. We created a beautiful children’s picture book published by West Margin Press. The book is now a live musical puppet show playing at the Seattle Aquarium, and was featured as the Story Walk book at the Woodland Park Zoo in September 2022.

Ceramics

Alison Kan Grevstad is an active member of the Seattle arts community as a practicing ceramic and visual artist. She has shown her work in gallery shows in Seattle (A Gallery, Pottery Northwest, ArtEast) and Arizona (Tang Gallery). Deeply influenced by nature, her art and design ethic give voice to underrepresented populations with a focus on cultural and environmental awareness.

She has worked in the studio Pottery Northwest for the past ten years, where she now teaches, and completed a year-long residency with ceramic artist Drew Nicklas. She creates both sculptural and functional work and enjoys exploring new approaches to ceramic surface design.
